How to Make a Platform Bed

I'm so pumped that I can finally share this with you guys! A while back I saw this platform bed on etsy that I fell in love with. Unfortunately it was $2,500.
So I got to looking at it and decided it may be possible to make myself... So there I went. I was quite surprised how easy it was and how well it turned out. A lot like the first picture!
Total cost: wood for frame: $20
                 platform boards: $50
                 Screws: $5
                 paint I had: $0
                 total: $75!!!

This is the frame I built for support. I made the measurements for a full, but it's big enough for a queen too.

For the platform I used Pine. I wanted it to be sturdy enough and still inexpensive. The boards are 1x8x8.
Like the one I saw on Etsy, I wanted it whitewashed. I Love when you can still see the wood grain.

Instead of buying a white wood stain, I mixed water with white paint I had on hand and used a sponge to apply.
Finished! I'm so happy with the results and how much money I saved doing it myself!
