Refinishing our Kitchen Table

I took on this project last spring while in the middle of wedding planning. So needless to say, it took way longer than expected. I don't really have a great before picture. This is the best one. As you can see  it was stained a light wood with white tile on top. I wanted a dark wood stain and nicer tile. I started by removing the old tile from the top.

Then the sanding began. We sanded for seemed like years. My sweet husband sanded the legs on his father's lathe. Which saved me so much work! We even had to sand the chairs.

I sanded the seats of the chairs and stained it this dark shade. I also painted the (what used to be bright white) backs and legs of the chairs an off white with this spray paint. I'm really happy with the color. 

I chose small brick like tile from Lowes. 

Here is the finished table!
